In an earlier post, I talked about how to block bad bots and spiders from searching your website using a .htaccess file. In addition to that method, I am also using a similar technique with the robots.txt file.

In setting up this site, I discovered that unscrupulous people set up bots to harvest email accounts, as well as my content. Yes, I have found exact copies of my stuff on other sites. This is by no means foolproof, but it will stop a good number of these bots, while letting the good bots, such as googlebot to spider your site.

I recently had a problem with my Joomla site. In firefox it would load, but it would give an error message: "The URL is Not Valid and Cannot be Loaded". So I tried using Internet Explorer on my site, and I got a blank page, but curiously enough, the URL shown was just http:///

In becoming familiar with the Joomla content management system, and Google's adsense, There is a nice adsense plugin for adding google ads to the left and right side of your blog, but there apparently isn't an easy way to place Google ads inside your Joomla articles.
