How to Disable Windows Needs Your Permission to Continue in VistaWhenever I work on someone's computer with Vista on it, I usually get the "Windows Needs Your Permission to Continue" prompts. These security alerts do serve a purpose, however

they are annoying. Typically people just click OK and go on. In order to disable this "feature", you need to do the following: User Account Control. To disable this message, open up Control Panel, and type in the user account in the search box. Next you will see a link that says Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off Click it, and un-check the box. Then reboot your computer.

Once this message has been disabled, there is still a little red icon with a big X on your taskbar to further warn you of this "feature" being turned off. This too can be disabled by going into Control Panel, and then clicking on the Security Center, and click on Change the way Security Center Alerts me and choose Don't Notify Me and Don't display the Icon as shown in the image below:

Again, this isn't recommended by Microsoft, but it is annoying. If you know what you are doing, you shouldn't have problems.
