FTP to your website in Windows XP 7 If you are the webmaster of a website, you need to be able to FTP it up to your web host. Windows has an easy way to FTP. Here is how to do it.

The first thing to do in setting up FTP on your Windows computer, is to double click on My Network Places, then click on Add Network Place and the Add Network Place wizard will start. Click  Next, and you will see the image below:

Next click on Choose another network location. Enter in the location that you want to FTP to. Its important to enter it correctly. For example if you are going to FTP to ftp.mysite.com, you would enter ftp://ftp.mysite.com

Click on Next and the following will come up:

Enter your user name. If you can't because its grayed out, this is because you need to un-check Log on anonymously. Click Next when done. Then enter the name of the network place and click Next again, and finally the Finish button.

Now in My Network Places you will see your FTP site listed as shown below:

Now to login to your FTP site, just double click on your site, and follow the prompts for your username and password and your are in.

To copy your website up to your FTP site, just drag and drop them into the window that opened up when you logged in to your FTP site.
