How To Burn an ISO Image to a CD or DVD
| Operating Systems - Microsoft / Windows |
In order to move away from Microsoft products, such as XP and Vista, and towards Ubuntu Linux, it is necessary fo be able to burn your downloaded ISO image to a CD or DVD.
In order to burn an ISO file, you need to download ISO Recorder.
Its small, and doesn't take much resources. Unfortunately burning an ISO to a DVD is only available in Vista with this software. For me I usually only burn ISO images to a CD, so this utility is great for me. Once it is installed, all you have to do is open up the folder where your ISO image is located, and right click on it, and select Copy Image to CD.

If you are using Vista, you can use ISOdisk. ISOdisk has the added advantage of letting you set up a virtual CD rom drive (or DVD drive) on your hard disk. Even though ISOdisk will work on XP, my personal preference is ISO Recorder because I don't have to launch an application to burn an ISO image to disk. Since this article is only concerned with burning an ISO image to a CD, I will only focus on this. For complete documentation on ISOdisk is on their website.

Hope this helps out.
